Supply Chain Specialist

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced supply chain professional. This is a key role and you will be providing procurement and electronics sourcing expertise and advice to the Company

 Key Responsibilities include:- 

  • Purchase materials as required in a timely and cost effective manner to meet business requirements and ensure robust traceability requirements are met

  • Vendor management - develop good professional relationships with key suppliers and manage their performance in line with business objectives

  • Provide excellent materials management to the business including understanding inventory profiles, cost variances and work to ensure the lowest total cost of ownership of materials

  • Effective shortage management – understand critical shortages and report on them as appropriate, chase overdue purchase orders etc

  • Order book management – manage effectively the Open Order Action report

  • Order acknowledgement – supplier to acknowledge all Purchase Orders

  • Effective end of life materials management

  • MRP management and execution

  • Sourcing material through utilisation of the material quotes process

  • Work closely with the quotation team to complete all quotation activity in a timely fashion and to the deadlines required

  • Negotiating best in class pricing and drive down costs of inventory

  • Evaluation of new suppliers

  • Maintenance of data and full compliance with system purchase parameters 

The successful candidate will have:- 

  • Proven track record in purchasing and component sourcing

  • Experience in an electronics environment and ideally CIPS qualified

  • Experience in fast moving manufacturing environment preferable

  • Experience of working with an MRP based system

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal and excellent telephone manner.

  • Computer literate and experience/good working knowledge of Word and Excel

  • Professional approach to work and “can do” attitude

  • Flexible team player with good problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
