Manufacturing Associates

We are looking for additional Manufacturing Associates at Fabrinet UK to join our production team to support business growth. You will report to the Production Team Leader/Operations Manager and be part of a highly skilled manufacturing team

Key responsibilities include:-

Assembly of printed circuit boards, including:

  • Identification of through hole component values

  • Soldering (IPC standard)

  • Reading of engineering drawings, BOM’S and work instructions

  • Self inspection to ensure quality product manufactured to customer specification

  • Selective soldering 

Inspection of printed circuit boards, to visually confirm the correct assembly including:

  • Correct component fitted

  • Component fitted in accordance with specification

  • Component soldered/secured in accordance with specification

  • That all requirements of the assembly instructions have been met

  • To maintain all necessary Inspection records and documentation

Repair of printed circuit boards, including:

  • Soldering rework from conventional up to ultra fine pitch surface mount components

  • Repairing PCB tracks

We are looking to recruit people with electronics experience as well as people who have the capability to be trained as below through our Training Academy. It is about having the right attitude and work ethic that is important and we can train electronic manufacturing skills:-

  • Good soldering skills (ideally IPC Level 3)

  • Experience of Through-hole assembly and Through-hole multiple-leaded component orientation

  • Good colour definition

  • Experience of Electronic Component recognition

  • Experience of basic de-soldering techniques

  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and requirements

  • Ability to follow written work instructions and read technical drawings

  • Have good attention to detail and a “can do” attitude

  • Thorough and methodical approach

  • Ability to concentrate for long periods

  • The ability to work flexibly when required including weekend working on occasions
